What can move the price up from that baseline:
- Season. April–May (peak flower + summer-holiday demand) and October–March (peak weather window) are premium windows. July–August is the softest window on both sides — same package, softer rate.
- Hotel tier upgrade. Package default is 4★ resorts in both Ooty and Kodaikanal. Luxury heritage or pool-villa tiers are available on request and are quoted separately.
- Group size. Pricing is quoted per couple for the honeymoon variant; family / group variants are quoted per group profile with room-block adjustments.
- Airport pickup city. Included as standard from Coimbatore or Madurai (the two closest airports). Longer transfers from Chennai or Bangalore are billed at the cab's per-km rate on top.

Duration & tier variants
The 4N/5D duration is the honest minimum for a real two-hill combo — anything shorter forces one of the hills into a single overnight, which rarely justifies the transfer time. That said, if a shorter or a longer-single-hill option fits better, both are on the shelf.
- Shorter single-hill fallback: if you can only spare 2–3 days, drop Kodaikanal and take the Ooty Honeymoon 2N/3D instead. The two-hill combo doesn't compress well below 4N/5D.

The transfer day (Ooty ↔ Kodaikanal)
Day 3 is the piece of the trip that most first-time planners underestimate. Ooty to Kodaikanal is 6–7 hours of driving via Coimbatore and Palani. There is no direct train, no direct flight, and no shorter road route — the two hill stations sit in different mountain ranges and the only way across is down into the plains and back up.
The package handles this by keeping the same private SUV from Day 1 through Day 5 — the cab that picks you up at the airport is the same cab that does the cross-Ghat transfer and the same cab that drops you at your exit airport. No handover, no separate booking, no per-kilometre negotiation on the transfer day. That's the single biggest operational reason to book this combo as a package rather than a stitched-together plan.
Hotel tier — what 4★ actually means
The package's default is 4★ Ooty Resort for the Ooty nights and 4★ Kodai Resort for the Kodaikanal nights, per the package record. In practice that means:
- Full-service resort with in-house restaurant, room service, front desk and 24-hour hot water.
- Honeymoon-décor room (flower arrangement + bed setup) on arrival evening.
- Breakfast buffet included, one candle-light dinner arranged at each hotel.
- Parking, wi-fi and standard resort amenities on-site.

The single most efficient way to run this combo is open-jaw — fly into one end, drive across, fly out the other end. Coimbatore is the closest airport to Ooty; Madurai is the closest to Kodaikanal. That means either "CJB in / IXM out" or "IXM in / CJB out" — both work equally, pick whichever pairs better with your flights.

The most efficient combo — one-way driving only, zero backtracking.

Direct road distance from Chennai is 550 km+ each way; flying one leg is the honest recommendation.

Out: Fly out of Madurai (IXM) after the Kodaikanal leg — cleaner than reversing all the way to Bangalore.
Bandipur park closes 9 PM–6 AM, so Day 1 must clear it before sunset.

Is there a shorter Ooty + Kodaikanal package?+
The 4N/5D duration is the honest minimum for a two-hill combo — 2 nights each side plus one transfer day. Anything shorter drops one of the hills to a single overnight, which usually isn't worth the transfer time. How long is the Ooty to Kodaikanal drive?+
6–7 hours by private cab via Coimbatore and Palani, with a lunch break en route. This is the Day 3 transfer day in the package — there is no direct train and no direct flight between Ooty and Kodaikanal, and the driving route is the only practical option.
Which airport should I fly into?+
For the two-hill combo, the most efficient combo is Coimbatore (CJB) in and Madurai (IXM) out, or the reverse — that way you drive in one direction only. If you must use the same airport for both legs, Coimbatore in-and-out is the standard fallback with a backtrack on the final day.
Which is better — Ooty or Kodaikanal?+
They're different, not competing. Ooty (Nilgiris, higher altitude) has tea estates, eucalyptus forests, colonial hill-town character and the Coonoor tea belt next door. Kodaikanal (Palani range) is quieter, greener, more compact, with the star-shaped lake and dramatic cliffs. The combo works precisely because they're different enough that doing both in one trip never feels repetitive.
